About A & Em

Who are Andrew & Emily?

Emily and Andrew are the founders of A & Em Marketing and the people who will actually be working on your account. Between them they have more than 15 years of experience in digital marketing across paid search, paid social, SEO, content strategy, and brand development. They started A & Em because they believed there was a better way to run an agency, one built on real relationships, genuine expertise, and work you can be proud of.

You will work directly with Emily and Andrew throughout the entire engagement, from the first call through strategy, implementation, and ongoing optimization. That’s not a sales pitch. It’s how the agency is built.

We focus on healthcare and care services including home care, senior living, home health, hospice, MAT/MOUD treatment, psychologists and therapists, and private schools. We also serve trades and home services businesses, lifestyle and wellness businesses including med spas, fitness studios, and tanning salons, legal and financial services including lawyers and insurance agencies, and e-commerce brands. If you’re not sure whether we’re a fit, reach out and we’ll tell you honestly.

Sometimes. If we have enough relevant experience to do the work well, we’ll say so. If we don’t, we’ll point you toward someone better suited rather than take your budget and figure it out as we go. We know a LOT of people in the field and we aren’t scared to point you in the right direction, even if it’s not A & Em.

Yes. We work with franchise and multi-location clients, particularly in home care and home services. Pricing and strategy for those engagements are handled differently than single-location clients. Reach out and we’ll talk through what makes sense.

Services

What services do you offer?

We offer Search Everywhere Optimization (SEO and AEO), Google Ads, Meta Ads, programmatic advertising, advertising on other platforms, including Spotify, ChatGPT, Local Service Ads, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, Pinterest, and TikTok, landing page design and optimization, website design, social media management, and consulting and fractional CMO services.

Almost certainly not. Most clients start with two or three services and expand as their strategy matures. We’ll tell you what we think makes the most sense for your business and your budget, and we won’t push services you don’t need.

You probably don’t, that’s where we come in and that is exactly what our free marketing audit is for. We look at where you are, where you want to go, and what’s actually standing in the way. From there we give you a straight recommendation.

AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization. It’s the practice of optimizing your content so that AI tools like ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews, and voice search assistants surface your business when someone asks a relevant question. SEO and AEO are closely related but distinct. SEO is about earning visibility in traditional search. AEO is about being the answer that AI platforms surface when someone asks a conversational question. We build strategies that do both. If you look at how this website is built you will see signals to both AI and Google, in fact, this FAQ section is built specifically for answer engines and other LLMs.

On a limited basis. We’ve found that the best marketing outcomes come from a direct relationship with the business owner or leadership team. We’re open to white label arrangements in the right circumstances but we’re selective about them. If you’re an agency exploring a white label partnership, reach out and we’ll have an honest conversation about whether it’s a good fit.

Yes. We can take over from an existing agency, run a specific channel they aren’t covering, or provide consulting and oversight if you want a second opinion on what they’re doing. We’ll tell you honestly what arrangement makes the most sense.

03

SEO & AEO

How long does SEO take to work?

Longer than most agencies will admit. You can start seeing movement in three to six months, but meaningful, sustainable results typically take six to twelve months depending on how competitive your market is and how much work the site needs upfront. We report on real data throughout so you always know where things stand.

Yes, and anyone who tells you otherwise isn’t being straight with you. Search rankings move based on algorithm updates, competitor activity, and seasonality. What matters is the overall trend over time. We report on real visibility and give you honest context when numbers move in either direction.

No. Any agency that guarantees specific rankings is making a promise they can’t keep because no one controls Google’s algorithm. What we can promise is that we’ll do the work correctly, report on what’s actually happening, and adjust strategy based on real data. We do guarantee that your visibility (impressions) will increase over the course of your engagement with us. We’ve found this is what actually matters to business owners, not keyword rankings for terms with no search volume that don’t translate to actual revenue.

They complement each other well. Paid ads give you immediate visibility while SEO builds over time. A site with strong SEO also tends to have better quality scores in Google Ads, which can lower your cost per click. The biggest advantage of SEO over ads is that organic traffic doesn’t stop the moment you pause your budget.

04

Advertising

Which advertising platform is right for my business?

It depends on your goals and your industry. Google Ads is where needs get answered — high-intent buyers searching for what you offer right now. Meta reaches people before they start searching, making it ideal for businesses where the customer doesn’t know they need you yet. Programmatic is a brand awareness play, not a lead generation tool. We’ll tell you which combination makes sense before you spend anything.

Ad spend is the budget that goes directly to the advertising platform — Google, Meta, Spotify, etc. It is separate from our management fee and is not included in our pricing. We are completely transparent about where every dollar of your ad budget goes.

We’ll recommend a minimum budget based on your market and goals. Below a certain threshold, paid advertising doesn’t generate enough data to optimize effectively, and we’d rather be upfront about that than take your money and underdeliver.

Not always. Google works best for businesses where people are actively searching for what you offer. If your product or service is something people don’t know to search for yet, Meta or programmatic might be a better starting point. We’ll tell you honestly which makes more sense before you spend anything.

For many businesses, yes. Google captures people who are already searching. Meta reaches people before they start. Together they cover more of the customer journey than either platform can on its own. Whether both make sense depends on your budget and your goals.

Rarely, and not reliably. Programmatic is a brand awareness channel. It’s not designed to drive immediate action the way Google or Meta ads are. If lead generation is your primary goal, we’ll point you toward a better tool first.

04

Websites & Landing Pages

Do I need a new website to work with you?

No. Most clients come to us for advertising or SEO and their existing websites are fine. We’ll evaluate your site as part of the audit and let you know if it’s something that needs attention.

No. For Meta campaigns we typically use on-platform instant forms, which often outperform external landing pages for lead generation. For Google Ads and other intent-based campaigns, a dedicated landing page is usually worth it. We’ll give you a straight recommendation based on your specific campaign.

We build service and informational sites on WordPress and e-commerce sites on Shopify. For landing pages, we start with your existing CMS. When that has limitations, we build on WordPress, Shopify, or Go High Level depending on your business model and strategy.

Working With Us

How does the process work?

It starts with a call with both Emily and Andrew. From there we do a thorough analysis of your business, your competitors, and your market. We come back with a specific strategy recommendation, execute it, and then stay involved through ongoing optimization and regular strategy sessions. The people who build your strategy are the same people running it.

We look at your website, your current search visibility, your competitors, your ad presence if you have one, and your social profiles. We come back with an honest assessment of where you stand and what we’d prioritize. You can use what we find whether you work with us or not.

No. We believe in earning your business every month. We’ll talk about what commitment makes sense for your specific engagement, but we don’t believe in locking clients in who aren’t getting results.

Every client gets clear, regular reporting on the metrics that actually matter — leads, cost per lead, traffic, visibility, and revenue impact where we can measure it. We don’t pad reports with vanity metrics that look good but don’t connect to business outcomes. If something isn’t working, we’ll tell you before you have to ask.

Very. We’re not a 500-person agency where your email disappears into a ticketing queue. You’ll have direct contact with Emily and Andrew and response times that actually respect your time. You can even text us, Andrew is pretty much awake all night 🙂.
